I really apreciate you being neutral and pointing out the flaws on both sides. But as fas as historical accuracy in AC goes: I really don't care. It's a fictional work, has always been. The fictional work text is the first thing that greets you when you boot up the game. While I think it's important to point out inaccurate history, at the end of the day I just want to have fun playing a game. Similar to the heavily romanticized Ghost Of Tshushima (which I also love) with it's inaccuracies, I wasn't expecting anything less here. Especially after the last 3 RPG titles. And honestly, I like the idea of a black samurai and just think it's super interesting. Even if this is about politics, I think theres nothing wrong with it, if it's made clear that it's a fictional work, which has always been the case. And from what I've seen, I like the gameplay so far. Of course it's Ubisoft, yeah. But I'm hyped nonetheless. Edit: typos

The pope should not use that kind of language. Is he homophonic? Probably. He considers it a sin to be gay. Granted, he's certainly not alone among Christians, but I think it's a mistake. I don't condemn him; I condemn the church that holds that doctrine. He is a product of that culture. It certainly didn't start with him. So, as such, we shouldn't be surprised that he thinks openly gay men shouldn't be priests. It's probably the doctrine of the church that makes closeted gay men turn to the priesthood, something he seems to be aware of as a problem he's just able to tolerate. It sounds like he'd rather they just stayed in the closet, which is a psychologically damaging position both for those men and for the people they minister to. I agree with you that a person's sexual preference shouldn't matter if they are choosing a life of celibacy. It's that the pope thinks it's tolerable to have closeted gay men there, because being closeted seems to suggest implicitly that they support the doctrine that it's a sin to be gay. But repression of who you are by nature is not good, as it will manifest most probably in unhealthy or even depraved ways. And, hmm, haven't we heard about problems with that among priests in the Catholic church?
